Daniel here,
If you’re looking for the best workouts to get ripped, then I’m glad you’ve found this website and I strongly suggest you keep reading…
Because this here is my uncensored story about how I finally got ripped enough to see my abs. The highs, the lows, what didn’t work and finally the one thing that did help me achieve my personal goal of looking good with my shirt off.

I wasn’t happy with the way I looked
I was never a really chubby guy, but I stopped being lean around the time I hit puberty. I’ve still got old pictures of when I was a kid and had barely an ounce of fat on me. By the time I was in my twenties, I looked liked I was lean if I was wearing clothes, but I hated taking off my shirt.
I wanted to be able to take my shirt off at the beach and get admiring glances from the ladies.
I Tried Everything
I tried everything that was supposed to work… and it did… sort of.
- I went on a super low-fat diet.
- I got up early to run half an hour 6 times a week on an empty stomach.
- I ate food that tasted like cardboard.
- I counted my calories meticulously.
- I did long hours of cardio.
- I did plenty of sit-ups.
- I did what all the magazines and books said you were supposed to do.
Did the fat come off? Yes. but very slowly. And I lost muscle mass too.
I was turning into a smaller version of myself; not a more ripped version.
I finally found what works
Finally, I happened upon a book that changed it all for me: 7 Weeks to Getting Ripped. The advice was totally different from what I’d seen everywhere else. I was won over by all the scientific studies behind it, so I gave it a try.

I was really surprised by how well it worked. I lost body-fat faster than I ever had before.
One day, I flexed in front of a mirror when no one else was around and I couldn’t believe it… I had abs!
What’s Good
Author Brett Stuart really does a great job of putting together workout plans to help you get ripped and lean.
He’s also very motivational and even provides games to help get you up and moving.
What’s Bad
While doing a great job of supplying workouts to get ripped, I think Brett drops the ball when it comes to nutrition. Nutrition is really more important than exercise if you want to shed bodyfat, so it deserves a lot of attention.
Brett jumps on the anti-fat bandwagon by endorsing only lean protein. This isn’t optimal.
Unless you’re eating enough carbohydrates to spike your insulin, dietary fat will not make you fat. It will, however keep you feeling full longer.
Brett also endorses eating the ‘good’ carbs such as rice that digest marginally more slowly and are therefore accepted as healthy. These are still carbohydrates and will spike your insulin. Higher insulin leads to more fat storage and less fat burning.
To really amp up the fat burning, I’d suggest looking into a ketogenic diet.
Conclusion
7 Weeks to Getting Ripped is a great book for the workouts, and a good book for the diet advice. It provided the exercises that helped get me lean enough to see my abs. I hope you found this information helpful and that you attain your fitness goals as well.
